As a 3D Technical Artist, I had the thrilling opportunity to work on a unique game series for JBL, designed for arcade units available in JBL stores across Europe. This project combined engaging 3D design with interactive gameplay, offering players a fun and accessible experience on Unity-powered arcade machines.

Project Overview

The game series was part of a broader promotional campaign with the captivating theme of a Snow Party, featuring an exciting twist: players had the chance to win tickets to see DJ Martin Garrix perform live in Val Thorens. This enticing reward added a competitive edge, driving engagement and participation.

My Role and Contributions

I developed custom 3D assets for JBL products, ensuring high fidelity and brand consistency. I created a low-poly 3D model of DJ Martin Garrix, including advanced rigging for cartoonish animations. This character was pivotal as the main figure in the game. Additionally, I optimized all 3D assets for smooth performance and seamless integration within Unity.

In character animation, I designed and animated characters with a cartoonish style, focusing on fluid, exaggerated movements to match the game’s aesthetic. These animations were synchronized with game mechanics, enhancing the overall player experience.

For level design, I contributed to the development of engaging and visually appealing levels in Unity. I worked closely with the design team to incorporate interactive elements that aligned with the Snow Party theme.

In narrative design, I developed scripted intro and outro sequences to set the scene and wrap up the game narrative, enhancing the storytelling aspect of the game.

I worked on the first two games in this series, setting the stage for multiple games to come. The first game was Snow Party, followed by Beach Challenge.

Project Impact

The JBL arcade game series was showcased in numerous JBL stores, attracting over 53,000 unique plays. This widespread engagement not only highlighted the game’s popularity but also paved the way for future reskins and adaptations, expanding the game’s reach and longevity.
